Myalgic encephalomyelitis or chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS)
Myalgic encephalomyelitis, commonly known as chronic fatigue syndrome or ME/CFS, is a long-lasting condition that can impact various systems in the body. The primary symptom is severe fatigue. The exact cause of ME/CFS remains unclear. This condition can affect individuals of all ages, including children. In addition to extreme tiredness, some people with ME/CFS may experience pain in various areas or flu-like symptoms, such as fever, headaches, and soreness in joints or muscles. Since the symptoms of ME/CFS can resemble those of other illnesses, it’s essential to consult a GP for an accurate diagnosis.
