About Mr Chris Roberts
Mr Chris Roberts is a highly skilled Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon based in Ipswich, practising at Nuffield Health Ipswich Hospital. He specialises in upper limb surgery, with particular expertise in shoulder surgery including shoulder arthroplasty, rotator cuff repair, and shoulder instability. His practice also includes hand surgery, focusing on conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome and Dupuytren’s contracture. Mr Roberts completed his Orthopaedic training through the East Anglian Rotation before undertaking a fellowship in upper limb surgery in Brisbane, Australia, and a specialised shoulder fellowship in Cape Town, South Africa under Dr Joe De Beer. He was appointed Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Ipswich Hospital in 2004, where he now serves as Clinical Director for Trauma and Orthopaedics. In addition to his clinical work, Mr Roberts is dedicated to education and research. He teaches on the Watanabe Shoulder Arthroscopy training programme and Exactech shoulder replacement courses. His research interests focus on shoulder replacement outcomes, particularly comparing reverse and anatomic shoulder replacements in older patients. He also contributes to the Journal of Arthroscopy as an editorial board member.
