Professor Ben Miranda is a highly experienced consultant plastic, cosmetic, and hand surgeon based at Chase Lodge Hospital. With more than two decades of clinical expertise, he is renowned for his dual accreditation in plastic and hand surgery, holding both FRCS (Plast) from the Royal College of Surgeons and the European Board of Hand Surgery (EBHS) certification, alongside the British Diploma in Hand Surgery (DipHandSurg). Professor Miranda undertook his medical studies at University College London (UCL), where he was awarded a BSc and MBBS. Demonstrating exceptional clinical acumen early in his career, he ranked first nationally in the selection process for specialist training in plastic surgery. His surgical training was completed at several prominent London teaching hospitals, including UCL, the Royal Free, Chelsea & Westminster, and St Mary’s Paddington. He further enhanced his expertise through two aesthetic surgery fellowships at leading international centres, as well as two hand surgery fellowships in London and Derby. Alongside his clinical work, Professor Miranda has made substantial contributions to research and medical education. He is the author of over 120 peer-reviewed scientific papers and two widely acclaimed surgical textbooks. As research group lead at a UK School of Medicine and a visiting professor, he plays an active role in mentoring future clinicians and advancing surgical knowledge. Professor Miranda provides a broad spectrum of surgical services, including cosmetic procedures such as abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), breast augmentation and reduction, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), liposuction, and labiaplasty. In the field of hand surgery, he routinely treats conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome and performs tendon repairs. His skill and precision have also earned him recognition as a trusted Medicolegal Expert Witness, producing comprehensive reports for cases involving clinical negligence and personal injury.
