About Dr R. Salman

Dr R. Salman is a leading consultant respiratory physician based in Leeds. His areas of expertise include difficult asthma and biologic therapy, chronic cough, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), long COVID, sleep medicine, and breathing pattern disorders. He is also highly proficient in treating pulmonary embolism and interstitial lung disease (pulmonary fibrosis). Dr Salman consults privately at Spire Leeds Hospital. With over 15 years’ experience, he notably played a key role in establishing the long COVID rehabilitation service in Leeds, a programme that was recognised with the prestigious British Medical Team of the Year award in 2022 for innovative medicine. His NHS practice is at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Dr Salman originally qualified with an MBChB, and has trained in the UK since 2010, before going on to pursue advanced qualifications in respiratory medicine in 2015, including the esteemed MCRP from the Royal College of Physicians. He holds the position of honorary senior lecturer at the University of Leeds, and has also authored publications in reputable medical journals and is closely involved in clinical trials, working to offer patients access to novel therapies that enhance their quality of life and respiratory health.
