About Dr Cara Williams

Dr Cara Williams is a highly respected consultant gynaecologist specialising in paediatric and adolescent gynaecologyand menopause based in Chester, where she sees patients privately at Nuffield Health The Grosvenor Hospital. She has particular expertise in adolescent menstrual dysfunction, premature ovarian insufficiency, vulvovaginitis, and menopausal care and congenital malformations. Her approach is compassionate and holistic, offering age-appropriate, tailored care for young patients and women navigating hormonal changes. Dr Williams graduated in medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 2003 and completed her specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology across the Mersey and London deaneries. She went on to complete two highly regarded clinical fellowships in paediatric and adolescent gynaecology at University College London Hospital (UCLH) and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, where she was later appointed consultant. Since 2016, she has held dual NHS posts at Alder Hey and Liverpool Women’s Hospital, where she is Clinical Lead for paediatric gynaecology. She delivers care across multiple specialist clinics, including dedicated services for Turner syndrome and congenital gynaecological anomalies. She is also a certified British Menopause Society (BMS) Menopause Specialist and currently leads as local Principal Investigator for the POISE trial.
