About Dr Simon Peake
Dr Simon Peake is an award-winning and revered consultant gastroenterologist who specialises in performing colonoscopies, and is an expert in conditions such as Crohn's disease, diarrhoea and constipation, acid reflux, abdominalpain, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). He is London-based and currently practises at Welbeck Digestive Health and the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hopsital. His current NHS practice is Imperial College London. Dr Peake, who recently won the European Gastroenterologist of the Year award (European Awards in Medicine 2024), is also the current lead of the inflammatory bowel disease service at Imperial College London, and both a clinical examiner and honorary senior clinical lecturer at the highly established college. His main areas of clinical research include inflammatory bowel disease, colon polyps, as well as endoscopy. He has published, to-date, a particularly substantial amount on these areas of interest. He is also an expert when it comes to food intolerance, acid reflux, rectal bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding, and coeliac disease. Dr Peake successfully completed a BSc with first class honours at the Imperial College London in 2001, an MBBS at said university two years later, as well as a MRCP at the Royal College of Physicians, London, in 2006. He would then later obtain an MD from the previously mentioned Imperial College London in 2015. He possesses a notable level of expertise in endoscopy, and is the current endoscopy training lead at St Mary's Hopsital, London.
