About Mr Pantelis Tsantanis

Mr Pantelis Tsantanis is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at University Hospitals Birmingham. He also offers private practice at Bromsgrove Hospital and MUMS (Midlands Ultrasound and Medical Services) in Solihull. His expertise lies in the treatment of upper limb conditions, including rotator cuff injuries, shoulder instability, arthritis of the shoulder and elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar nerve entrapment, and upper limb fractures. After graduating from the University of Patras, Greece in 2010, Mr Tsantanis moved to the UK to pursue his specialist training. He gained broad experience in hospitals across Cambridge and Liverpool before completing higher orthopaedic training in the West Midlands. He then undertook a prestigious fellowship in complex shoulder and elbow surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, before being appointed as a consultant. Alongside his clinical work, Mr Tsantanis is actively involved in research and education. He is the Principal Investigator for two national multicentre studies on clavicle and shoulder fractures, has published in peer-reviewed journals, and frequently presents at international conferences as an invited speaker. He also serves as an OSCE examiner for the University of Birmingham, organises teaching courses for students and trainees, and has postgraduate qualifications in both Trauma & Orthopaedics and Medical Education. Mr Tsantanis is an Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor and leads surgical skills training for the Greek Association for Global Surgery. He is also the team orthopaedic surgeon for the City of Birmingham Rockets Basketball Club and a match doctor for the Rugby Football League.
