Bowel polyps

Bowel polyps are small growths that develop on the lining of the large intestine (colon) or the rectum. They are quite common and are generally not a cause for concern, although there is a possibility that some can progress to bowel cancer. These growths are also referred to as colonic or colorectal polyps. Typically, bowel polyps do not produce any symptoms, meaning that most individuals with them remain unaware of their presence. They are frequently discovered during a colonoscopy, often when a person is being examined for other bowel issues, such as inflammation or cancer.
