Mr Anirvan Banerjee is a consultant ENT surgeon in Teesside, who specialises in paediatric ENT, otology and ear disease and tonsil and adenoid disorders, alongside balance disorders, nasal blockage and polyps, voice and swallowing difficulties, wax removal and hearing loss. He privately practises at Nuffield Health Tees Hospital, while his NHS base is South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he is the clinical director of the ENT & Audiology department at James Cook University Hospital. Mr Banerjee provides a comprehensive ENT service for both adults and children, with particular expertise in the management of sinus disease, offering both medical treatment and endoscopic sinus surgery. He has a special interest in hearing-related conditions, including balance problems, chronic ear infections and hearing loss, and performs surgery to reconstruct the eardrum and restore hearing. Mr Banerjee is the lead clinician for the children's hearing service in the Teeside and North Yorkshire region (NHS), and is involved in cochlear implant surgery as director of the North West Cochlear Implant Programme North East regional cochlear implant programme. He trained on the Cambridge rotation and completed a specialist fellowship in advanced otology in Perth, Western Australia. Mr Banerjee is a fellow of both the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Surgeons (ENT) and holds an MS and MBBS. He is a council member of the Royal Society of Medicine’s Otology section, a committee member for ENT UK's Clinical Audit & Practice Advisory Group, secretary of the North of England ENT Society and a member of the Intercollegiate Examination Question Writing Group.
