About Mr James Pitt
Mr James Pitt is a consultant surgeon in Ipswich who specialises in treating haemorrhoids, anal fistula and anal fissures, alongside performing laparoscopic bowel cancer surgery and hernia repair. He privately practises at eXroid - Ipswich, while he is the senior general surgeon at Ipswich Hospital, part of the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Pitt graduated in 1989 from the London Hospital Medical College, University of London, and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 1995. He undertook surgical training at leading institutions, including Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St Mary’s Hospitals. In 1996, he completed research into anal fissure treatments at University College London, earning an MSc in Surgical Science with distinction. In 2001, he was appointed as a consultant general surgeon at Ipswich Hospital.
