Mr Harkiran Seehra is a consultant colorectal and general surgeon in Newcastle with expertise in haemorrhoids, anal fistula, rectal bleeding, and EPSiT (Endoscopic Pilonidal Sinus Treatment), alongside colonoscopy, HALO (Haemorrhoidal Artery Ligation Operation), band ligation of haemorrhoids and the Rafaelo procedure. He privately practices at Nuffield Health Newcastle Hospital, Spire Washington Hospital, The Bespoke Clinic and Northumbria Health Private Patients, while his NHS base is Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Seehra has been a consultant colorectal surgeon at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust since 2003. He has extensive experience in proctology, providing both traditional excisional techniques and advanced alternatives such as HALO. He is developing a specialist service for the treatment of anal fistula and pilonidal disease using innovative techniques including Video-Assisted Anal Fistula Treatment (VAAFT) and EPSiT. Mr Seehra completed his medical degree (MBChB) at the University of Manchester in 1986 and undertook higher surgical training in the North West and Mersey Deanery, achieving his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in general surgery (FRCSEd Gen Surg). His practice encompasses the full breadth of general colorectal surgery with a focus on advanced proctology.
