About Mr Ismail Mallick

Mr Ismail Mallick is a consultant colorectal and general surgeon in Bournemouth. He specialises in haemorrhoids, hernias and colonoscopy, alongside inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), rectal bleeding and colorectal cancer. Mr Mallick completed his medical degree at Annamalai University in 1997 before undertaking surgical training in Yorkshire and Humberside. He also specialises in treating pelvic floor disorders, including rectal prolapse. Beyond his clinical work, Mr Mallick is actively involved in medical education and research. He is the clinical lead for audit and quality assurance in surgery at Royal Bournemouth Hospital and teaches final-year MBBS students from Southampton University. He is also a visiting faculty member at Bournemouth University and an examiner for the European Board of Surgery in Colon and Rectal Surgery. Additionally, he contributes to the FRCS Christie Course in Manchester, preparing surgeons for their fellowship exams. Mr Mallick has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and is frequently invited to speak at national and international conferences. His research, particularly in minimally invasive treatments for rectal prolapse, has been widely cited in academic literature. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colorectal Surgeons.
