Mr Diwakar Ryali Sarma is a highly accomplished consultant colorectal surgeon based in Birmingham, practising at The Priory Hospital. He specialises in advanced minimally invasive procedures including video-assisted anal fistula treatment (VAAFT), endoscopic pilonidal sinus treatment (EPSiT), laparoscopic and open hernia repair, and surgery for bowel endometriosis. Renowned for his patient-centred approach and surgical precision, Mr Sarma is dedicated to delivering the highest standards of care through innovative, evidence-based techniques. He qualified in medicine from the University of Calcutta in 2004 and completed extensive national and international postgraduate training. He achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Coloproctology from the University of East Anglia, equipping him with specialist skills in complex colorectal surgery. In recognition of his surgical excellence in training, he was also recognised as a Silver Scalpel award finalist in 2025.
