When to seek medical help

Visit your GP if you experience certain symptoms, especially if you have a headache that feels unusual compared to what you normally experience, or if your headaches are becoming more severe. While it’s unlikely that you have a brain tumour, these symptoms warrant examination. If your GP cannot determine a more probable cause for your symptoms, they may refer you to a neurologist, a specialist in the brain and nervous system, for further evaluation and tests, including a brain scan.
