When to seek medical help

Any signs indicating an issue with the brain or nervous system should be regarded as a medical emergency. These signs include slurred speech, muscle weakness or paralysis, and seizures in someone who has not had them before. If you or someone else shows any of these symptoms, call 999 right away and request an ambulance. Additionally, if there are symptoms indicating a worsening infection, such as a high fever or vomiting, it is important to inform your GP as soon as possible. If your GP is unavailable, reach out to your local out-of-hours service or contact NHS 111.
