Iron deficiency anaemia
Iron deficiency anaemia occurs when there is not enough iron in the body, which can often result from blood loss or during pregnancy. The condition is typically treated with iron supplements and a diet that includes foods high in iron. Common symptoms of iron deficiency anaemia may include fatigue and weakness. Less typical symptoms, which are not usually associated with pregnancy, can also occur. To determine if you have iron deficiency anaemia, your GP will inquire about your lifestyle and medical history.
