Allergies

An allergy occurs when your body responds to a substance that is usually harmless, such as certain foods, pollen, dust, insect stings, or pet dander. While symptoms can be mild for some individuals, they can be severe for others. Substances that trigger these reactions are known as allergens. Symptoms may develop within minutes or take a few hours to appear. Additionally, you or the affected individual might experience a rash that is swollen, raised, or itchy.
