About Professor Gideon Lack

Professor Gideon Lack is a highly experienced consultant in allergy and immunology who specialises in asthma in children, allergies, anaphylaxis, immunity and infection, food allergies, foodintolerance, paediatric immunology, and paediatric allergies. Professor Lack qualified in medicine from Oxford University and proceeded to train as a paediatrician for four years in New York and another four years in Denver, Colorado. He is a current professor and the present head of paediatric allergy at King's College, London. Thus far in his medical career, Professor Lack has contributed greatly to research regarding severe childhood asthma, food allergies, the treatment and prevention of food allergies, eczema, and hay fever in children and adults. Notably, he is currently on the Steering Committee as a representative of the Leadership Centre for CoFAR to give insights on the best studies to pursue, trouble shoot, and evaluate the progress of studies. To add to this, Professor Lack has, impressively, established two of the nation’s paediatric allergy centres and is a co-founder of the Allergy Academy at King’s College London. He is also a director of the Centre of Excellence course for international students and a consultant to the Sean Parker Allergy Centre and Stanford University. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology as well as the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology in Practice. Profesor Lack is also the secretary to the Food Allergy Section of the World Allergy Organisation. In 2010, Professor Lack was awarded the William Frankland Excellence in Allergy Award by the British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
