About Dr Stephen Mounsey

Dr Stephen Mounsey is an accomplished consultant dermatologist at University Hospital Lewisham and an honorary consultant at the world-renowned St John’s Institute of Dermatology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. He privately practises at the Montrose clinic in London. He provides expert care for adults, adolescents, and children across all aspects of general and medical dermatology, including the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. He has a particular interest in inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, with advanced expertise in the use of systemic and biologic therapies. Dr Mounsey’s career in healthcare began with a first-class honours degree in pharmacy from Cardiff University, after which he worked as a clinical pharmacist at the University Hospital of Wales. He went on to study Medicine at King’s College London, graduating with distinction, and completed his postgraduate medical training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ and University College London Hospitals. He undertook his specialist dermatology training at the prestigious St John’s Institute of Dermatology. Alongside his clinical work, Dr Mounsey plays a leading role in medical education and research. He is the Regional Training Programme Director for dermatology in South London and leads both undergraduate and postgraduate dermatology teaching at University Hospital Lewisham.
