Dr Giuseppe Merola is a consultant child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist in central London, who specialises in bipolar disorder, depression and ADHD, alongside psychosis, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and personality disorders. After earning his medical degree with honours from Sapienza University of Rome, Dr Merola completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Florence, where he specialised in eating disorders. Alongside his clinical work, he became a visiting researcher at King’s College London, where his research explores the genetic architecture of psychiatric disorders through advanced computational analysis. He is also one of the founding trustees of the Foundation for Evolution and Mental Health charity. Dr Merola currently practises as a clinician at Online Psychiatry and is pursuing an MRC-funded clinical and research fellowship. Furthermore, Dr Merola has published over 20 peer-reviewed scientific papers and presented his research at major international conferences, including the European Mathematical Genetics Meeting and the Majorana Centre for Scientific Culture.
