About Dr Simon Sporton

Dr Simon Sporton is a highly experienced consultant cardiologist specialising in cardiac electrophysiology (treatment of heart rhythm disorders), practising at Cleveland Clinic London Hospital. After qualifying in medicine from the University of London in 1991, he pursued postgraduate training in Leeds and London, honing his expertise in cardiology. Dr Sporton completed his sub-specialist training in cardiac electrophysiology at the renowned St Bartholomew’s Hospital, where he was appointed as a consultant in 2004 and is currently Clinical Lead for Cardiac devices. Dr Sporton's practice covers the full spectrum of heart rhythm management, including catheter ablation and device therapies such as pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) for heart failure and device extraction. Dr Sporton has developed sub-specialist expertise in cutting-edge areas such as leadless pacing, conduction system pacing. He also has a particular interest in managing heart rhythm issues in patients with cancer and cardiomyopathy, providing comprehensive, patient-focused care for complex conditions. Dr Sporton’s extensive experience and dedication to delivering the highest standards of care have established him as a trusted authority in the management of heart rhythm disorders.
