About Mr Panos Liantis

Mr Panos Liantis is a highly esteemed and experienced consultant spinal and orthopaedic surgeon who practises at both the London Bridge Hospital and The London Clinic. He specialises in lower back pain, minimally invasive spinal surgery, spinal decompression, spinal deformities, spinal cord compression, neck pain, spinal fractures, as well as cervical and lumbar degenerativedisease. Mr Liantis, who is also an expert when it comes to sciatica and scoliosis, and complex spinal revision surgery, notably obtained a PhD in orthopaedics from the University of Athens in 2014, after successfully completing a bachelor's degree in education at said university in 2002, where he was awarded a Teaching Diploma Accreditation. He has, to-date, also undertaken three fellowships, with a particular focus on complex spinal surgery as well as paediatric spinal deformities. His main areas of clinical research interest include vertebroplasty, microdisectomy, degenerative lumbar disease, and spinal trauma and fractures, and the investigation of the role of the microbiome in lumbar disc degeneration, but to mention a few. Impressively, he was awarded the Clinical Coding Champions Award in 2017. Mr Liantis has published extensively in various peer-reviewed journals on the topics that he has a specialist interest in, such as osteogenesis, bone graft harvesting, and cervical spine injuries.
