About Dr Nick Zygouris
Dr Nick Zygouris is a consultant clinical psychologist in Birmingham, who specialises in anxiety, depression, obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), borderline personality disorder, erectile dysfunction, suicidal thoughts, and phone addiction. He privately practises at the Stronger Minds clinic in Selly Park, Birmingham. His subspecialties include anger management, interpersonal difficulties, memory problems, diagnostic assessments and neuropsychological assessments. He qualified as a Doctor of Clinical Psychology from the University of Birmingham in 2012, after completing an MBA at the University of Warwick. His academic background also includes FHEA, AFBPsS, CSci, CPsychol, a postgraduate diploma in brief interventions from Sheffield Hallam University, and a postgraduate certificate in higher education from the University of Kent. He is a chartered psychologist and associate fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS), a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), and part of the United Kingdom Association for Solution Focused Practice (UKASFP). Dr Zygouris, who has more than two decades of experience providing psychological therapy to individuals and couples, is highly experienced. He is the Chief Clinical Officer for handl Group and also serves as Director of Mental Health for the international health and employment services provider Maximus UK. Alongside these leadership roles, has held senior positions heading psychology departments in the NHS and the private sector, where he has been instrumental in shaping mental health services and mentoring the next generation of psychologists. Dr Zygouris has contributed extensively to education and training. He was a senior lecturer on the MSc in Addiction Psychology and Counselling at London South Bank University from 2007 to 2023 and has collaborated with the University of Birmingham to mentor trainee clinical psychologists and carry out research. He is committed to making psychology accessible and regularly shares expert insights through articles, blogs, and presentations at conferences.
