About Lauren Jacobs
Lauren Jacobs is a psychotherapist and counselling psychologist in central London with expertise in attachment issues, anxiety and depression, alongside burnout, low self-esteem, building confidence, LGBTQ+ mental health and work-related stress. She privately practises at Online Psychiatry. Lauren offers therapy that is compassionate, collaborative and grounded in evidence-based practice, working within the ethical frameworks of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the British Psychological Society (BPS). She has over seven years of experience working in NHS services, community organisations, mental health charities and private practice, supporting individuals with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties. Her work involves helping people understand how past experiences shape their present relationships, thoughts and behaviours, and supporting them in developing healthier coping strategies and self-awareness. Lauren is currently undertaking a doctorate in counselling psychology (PsychD) at the University of Roehampton, where she also gained an MSc in counselling psychology. She also holds an MSc (Distinction) in psychology from Kingston University. Her academic work explores trauma, identity, and personal and social experiences within under-represented communities in the UK. She is a guest lecturer at the University of Roehampton, contributing to teaching in counselling psychology and practitioner wellbeing. She draws on an integrative approach to therapy, combining psychodynamic therapy to explore unconscious patterns, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to address unhelpful thinking and behaviour, and person-centred therapy to provide a safe and empathetic environment for growth. This allows her to tailor treatment to the individual needs and goals of each client. Lauren is committed to creating a safe, confidential and inclusive space where individuals from diverse backgrounds, can explore their challenges and work toward meaningful change.
