About Dr Michael Mullen

Dr Michael Mullen is a consultant interventional cardiologist based in London. He has an international reputation for his expertise in the transcatheter treatment of structural and congenital heart disease with over 20 years of experience in this field. Dr Mullen's private practice is based at Harley Street Clinic and Barts Heart Centre, where he leads the UK’s largest structural heart intervention program. Treatments provided by Dr Mullen include percutaneous repair or replacement of heart valves, including TAVI, Mitraclip, Triclip and pulmonary valve implantation, closure of patent foramen ovale (PFO) and atrial septal defect (ASD) and other bespoke interventions for structural heart abnormalities. Dr Mullen has played a key role in the development and evaluation of many of these innovative technologies and their subsequent introduction into clinical practice. Dr Mullen has a broad research portfolio and is frequently invited to give lectures and live demonstrations at national and international conferences.
