About Ms Manvi Sobti

Ms Manvi Sobti is a consultant ophthalmologist in London who specialises in cataract surgery and eyelid surgery. She privately practises at Chase Lodge Hospital while her NHS base is Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Her clinical work focuses lid malpositions (droopy and hooded eyelids), watery eyes, eyelid lumps (styes and chalazion), dry eyes, eyelid cancers, facial palsy related eye issues and eyelid burns. She also has a special interest in thyroid eye disease, which she manages in collaboration with endocrinologists. Ms Sobti completed her medical degree at Grant Medical College in Mumbai in 2009 and undertook ophthalmology training in India and across several centres in Scotland. Her subspecialist training includes fellowships in oculoplastics at the Scottish Ocular Oncology Centre at Gartnavel General Hospital in Glasgow and at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, where she gained experience in reconstructive surgery for conditions such as neurofibromatosis, burns and Stevens Johnson syndrome. She also completed a fellowship in medical and surgical retina at Whipps Cross Hospital, London. Her background in ocular trauma and complex cataracts, gained during her career in India, further strengthens her broad clinical expertise. As part of her multidisciplinary NHS work, Ms Sobti manages complex cases alongside dermatologists, craniofacial surgeons and burns plastic surgeons. She is a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society.
