About Dr Iqbal Malik

DrIqbalMalik is an outstanding cardiologist based at OneWelbeckHeartHealth and LondonCardiovascularClinic on HarleyStreet. He sees patients with chestpain, breathlessness, palpitations, artrialfibrillation, highblood pressure or cholesterolproblems. He is an expert in valve disease. He specialises in coronary angioplasty (PCI), TAVI (transcatheter aortic valve implantation), and closure of holes in the heart, such as atrial septal defect (ASD) and patent foramen ovale (PFO). A highly qualified and experienced specialist, Dr Malik graduated from Cambridge and trained in London. He completed a PhD in vascular biology at the Hammersmith Hospital, where he was appointed as a consultant in 2003, and is now the lead for Structural Heart Disease as well as the Heart Attack Centre (HAC) program. He is Medical Director of One Welbeck Heart Health, leading a group of 23 top cardiologists in London. Dr Malik is actively involved in research, particularly in coronary artery disease and structural heart disease. He has been involved in conducting many clinical trials, and was a founding member of the International Centre for Circulatory Health (ICCH) - a centre of research excellence at Imperial College London. He has published over 100 original research papers, and performs “live” educational cases regularly to international meetings. Alongside this, he is the program director for CSI-Frankfurt, one of the world's premier cardiology meetings. Dr Malik also regularly appears in the media commenting on cardiology issues. He runs the YouTube channel LondonCardioClinic, which provides education of patients and doctors alike.
