About Dr Ana Tsakiri
Dr Ana Tsakiri is a leading consultant psychiatrist based at 2 Harley Street, London. Her areas of expertise lie in child and adolescent psychiatry and she can support children and adolescents during periods of acute crisis, but also to help them with long-standing emotional and behavioural difficulties. She has helped many young people with anxiety, depression, chronic or complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), autism, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and psychosis. She also has experience helping young people with eating difficulties, somatoform disorders and head injury and specialises in family work and family relationships (systemic work), as well as trauma-informed practice. She has a unique experience as a psychiatrist including working in an NHS trauma-informed unit. Dr Tsakiri also specialises in interventional psychiatry using TMS therapy in young people with resistant emotional difficulties and severe depression. She sees children between the ages of 6 and 18 and is passionate about helping young people and their families deal with the challenges of mental health. Due to her specialised training in systemic therapy and family dynamics, she can develop personalised approaches to support both parents, young people and their families with complex problems. She often works with the whole family during her therapies to provide effective interventions for everyone. In addition, she offers personalised parental psychoeducation; this covers the management of difficulties associated with ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, conduct disorders and behavioural and emotional problems. Dr Tsakiri offers a safe and supportive space for her patients and their families. Her holistic therapeutic approach and trauma-informed practice aims to make young people and their families understand how adversity and trauma have impacted a child’s world causing emotional and mental health difficulties as well as physical symptoms. She takes on a non-judgmental and empathetic approach to build a healing relationship with her patients, helping them feel safe and listened to and able to move forward and thrive.
