Frontotemporal dementia
Frontotemporal dementia is a rare form of dementia that impacts behaviour and language skills. Dementia refers to a decline in mental functions due to progressive changes and damage in the brain. This particular type of dementia primarily affects the frontal and temporal lobes, located at the front and sides of the brain. While dementia generally occurs in individuals over the age of 65, frontotemporal dementia typically begins at a younger age. Most diagnoses occur in people between 45 and 65 years old, but it can also affect those who are younger or older.
