About Mr Tariq A Kwaees

Mr Kwaees is a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon specialising in sports injuries and knee surgery. He provides comprehensive care for a wide range of patients from young children to active adults, focusing on restoring function and enabling patients to return to their daily activities or high-level sport. He offers private consultations via e-Consultation, and his NHS base is Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. His private practice is based at Euxton Hall, part of the Ramsay Health Care group of hospitals. Mr Kwaees has particular expertise in managing complex knee conditions, including congenital and acquired deficiencies, instability, deformity correction, soft tissue repair and reconstruction, complex chondral (cartilage) and meniscal surgery, osteotomy, and arthroplasty (joint replacement surgery). He is the first surgeon to complete the only superspecialist paediatric to adult knee fellowship in the world. He is dual certified in Orthopaedic Surgery in both the United Kingdom and Europe and holds multiple advanced degrees in human biomechanics and sports medicine from UK institutions and the International Olympic Committee, as well as in health system modernisation. Alongside his clinical work, Mr Kwaees is passionate about medical education and regularly teaches medical students, junior doctors and senior doctors both nationally and internationally. He also has a strong interest in research and innovation in knee surgery and currently serves as the lead for research at his NHS base.
