About Mr Tamim Siddiqui

Mr Tamim Siddiqui is a highly experienced consultant in vascular, endovascular, and endovenous surgery, currently practising privately at Nuffield Health Glasgow Hospital, Glasgow Private Clinic and Tayside Complete Health. Within the NHS, he serves as the clinical lead for vascular surgery for the South West Scotland Vascular Network based at University Hospital Hairmyres, providing care to an NHS population of approximately 1.2 million. In addition to his clinical duties, Mr Siddiqui holds several key local and national leadership roles, including Specialty Advisor to the Chief Medical Officer for Scotland, Deputy Clinical Director for Surgery and Associated Specialties, and Training Programme Director for Vascular Surgery Training in Scotland. He is actively involved in research, service redesign and national planning. Mr Siddiqui has particular expertise and is key opinion leader in minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins, such as Radiofrequency Ablation, Ultrasound-Guided Foam Sclerotherapy, and Venaseal. As a recognised expert in these procedures, he also trains surgeons across Scotland in their use. His practice encompasses the full spectrum of vascular surgical interventions, including angioplasty and stenting, aneurysm repair, carotid artery surgery, and the management of peripheral arterial and diabetic vascular disease. He completed his medical degree (MBChB) at the University of Edinburgh in 2001 and undertook his specialist surgical training in the West of Scotland. Mr Siddiqui was appointed Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Raigmore Hospital in 2013, where he pioneered the introduction of advanced minimally invasive varicose vein treatments in NHS Highland. In 2017, he joined University Hospital Hairmyres as Consultant Vascular, Endovascular, and Endovenous Surgeon, where he continues to lead a modern, high-quality vascular service alongside his full clinical commitments.
