About Ms Sophie Renton
Miss Sophie Renton is an esteemed consultant vascular surgeon with over 30 years of experience, specialising in varicose veins, spider veins, carotid artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, and the diabetic foot. After extensive higher surgical training in North and South West London, Miss Renton completed her MS higher degree and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1988. Since 1996, Miss Renton has held positions as a consultant in vascular surgery. She has a private practice at the Clementine Churchill Hospital, Harrow, Syon BMI in Brentford, London, and at Spire Bushey. She is a recognised expert in the field of endogenous therapy, having introduced endogenous surgery to her NHS trust at Northwick Park. She is particularly interested in minimally invasive day case treatments for varicose veins. In the private sector, she is able to offer a wide range of techniques for the treatment of varicose veins including radiofrequency ablation, mechanochemical ablation, foam sclerotherapy, and glue. She is currently a council member and current secretary of the Vascular Society, for which she has sat on the education, workforce, and annual scientific meeting committees. She has multiple publications on many aspects of arterial and venous disease and holds the position of honorary senior lecturer at Imperial College, London. She is also a reviewer for the Royal College of Surgeons of England. She was the lead author of the Provision of Services for Vascular patients in 2018, and in 2021 she chaired the writing group for the revision publication.
