About Mr Richard P Baker

Mr Richard Baker is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Nuffield Health Bristol Hospital, with a specialist interest in joint replacement surgery. He has been practising at Nuffield Health Bristol Hospital since its opening in 2013, and at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre, Southmead Hospital, since 2012. Mr Baker has devoted his entire career to orthopaedic surgery and research since graduating from the University of Manchester in 1999. He undertook specialist training in joint replacement surgery in Bristol and Vancouver. His areas of expertise include primary hip and knee arthroplasty, partial knee replacement, hip resurfacing, and complex revision surgery of both hip and knee implants. In addition to his clinical work, Mr Baker is actively involved in the education of medical students and junior doctors. He is the author of over 20 publications on topics including hip and knee replacement surgery, femoral neck fractures, and hip resurfacing.
