About Mr Parm Johal
Mr Parm Johal is a revered consultant orthopaedic surgeon with a specialist focus on knee surgery. He is based primarily at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, where he serves as the clinical lead for soft tissue knee surgery. His clinical expertise encompasses the full spectrum of knee-related conditions, including sports injuries, arthroscopic procedures, meniscal and ligament surgery, and knee replacements, as well as patellofemoral arthritis and instability, including medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction. Mr Johal graduated from The University of London in 1994. He completed his orthopaedic training across several leading London institutions, such as University College Hospital, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital, and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. He further advanced his training through specialised fellowships in sports surgery and joint replacement at Sportsmed-SA in Adelaide, Australia, as well as focused knee surgery fellowships at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre in Bristol and Guy’s Hospital in London. He was also awarded a prestigious EFORT (European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics & Traumatology) fellowship to the University of Leuven in Belgium. Mr Johal has a robust research background. He earned his MD with a thesis on knee joint kinematics, a study that has been widely cited by peers and utilised by major implant manufacturers in the development of modern knee prostheses. He has authored numerous scientific publications and has presented his work at both national and international medical conferences.
