About Mr P Nithin Unnikrishnan

Mr P Nithin Unnikrishnan is a consultant orthopaedic hip and knee surgeon practising in Oswestry with a specialist interest in adultlowerlimbarthroplasty and youngadulthippathology. His areas of expertise include both primary and revision hip and knee replacementsurgery as well as knee and hip arthroscopy. Mr Unnikrishnan graduated from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India with an MBBS in 2001. He then undertook specialistorthopaedictraining on the Liverpool Orthopaedic Rotation and in 2017 he earned his CCT from the General Medical Council. Mr Unnikrishnan was awarded a Professor Sir John Charnley lower limb arthroplasty fellowship, at the highly regarded Wrightington Orthopaedic Hospital, and then he completed a fellowship in young adult hip practice at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Young Adult Hip Unit, Birmingham. Mr Unnikrishnan was also awarded travelling fellowships on two occasions, firstly the Zimmer-Biomet travelling fellowship in 2018 and then in 2019 the European travelling fellowship from the British Hip Society. Mr Unnikrishnan treats patients in the renowned RobertJonesandAgnesHuntOrthopaedicHospital, from Wednesdays through to Saturdays. In addition to his clinical work, Mr Unnikrishnan is interested in research and has authored a large number of peer-reviewed publications. He presents at both national and international meetings frequently. He holds an honorary senior lecturer position at Edge Hill University, Ormskirk.
