About Mr Nicholas Bottomley
Mr Nicholas Bottomley is a highly skilled consultant orthopaedic surgeon based in Oxford who specialises in knee surgery. His areas of expertise include sports injuries, early knee arthritis, knee pain and patellofemoral instability. He is highly proficient in meniscal surgery, ACL reconstruction, multi-ligament reconstruction, and partial and total knee replacement. Mr Bottomley is part of the renowned Oxford Knee Group. With over 20 years’ experience, he also practises for Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Before this, he worked with a surgical team in Brisbane, Australia, where he provided care for professional rugby union and rugby league teams. Mr Bottomly treats both adult and paediatric patients. Mr Bottomley holds an MBBS from Imperial College London and an intercalated BSc in Orthopaedic Sciences from University College London. His DPhil, awarded by the University of Oxford in 2014, focused on the progression of early knee arthritis. Mr Bottomley also holds esteemed fellowship in trauma and orthopaedics from the Royal College of Surgeons.
