About Professor Leo Vassiliou

Professor Leandros-Vassilios Vassiliou (Leo) is a leading maxillofacial surgeon based in Wilmslow. He is an expert in a wide range of maxillofacial conditions and procedures, including oral surgery, wisdom teeth, jaw cysts, neck lumps, jaw joint (TMJ) disorders and head and neck cancer. Professor Vassiliou first qualified in dentistry in 2002, with a DDS from the National and Capodistrian University of Athens, Greece. He later qualified with an MD in 2008 from the same institution. He then continued his medical training in the United Kingdom, graduating from UCL with an MS in Nanotechnology and Regenerative Medicine in 2015, and an FRCS(OMFS) in oral and maxillofacial surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2016. Professor Vassiliou currently practices at the Wilmslow Hospital. He is also a consultant maxillofacial surgeon at the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust (ELHT). He is highly experienced, having worked as a maxillofacial surgeon at numerous prestigious hospitals across the UK, including University College London Hospital, King’s College Hospital and Guy’s Hospital. Mr Vassiliou is also a respected voice in medical education, and is currently an honorary lecturer at the University of Liverpool Medical School.
