About Mr Khaldoun Bitar

Mr Khaldoun Bitar completed his medical degree in 2004 and went on to undertake all of his postgraduate training in trauma and orthopaedic surgery within the UK. He was awarded fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2016. To further enhance his expertise, he pursued two specialist fellowships in trauma and arthroplasty surgery, both based in the UK. Since 2018, Mr Bitar has held a consultant position within the NHS in Wolverhampton, where he manages a broad spectrum of lower limb conditions. His work includes the management of complex lower limb trauma, primary joint replacements, and revision procedures when necessary. In 2022, he and his team reached a significant milestone by being among the first in the region to perform same-day hip replacements, allowing patients to return home and recover in familiar surroundings. Committed to advancing patient care, Mr Bitar offers hip resurfacing arthroplasty—a procedure particularly suitable for younger, more active individuals. This option is currently available at only a select number of centres across the UK, and he developed this expertise under the mentorship of a leading orthopaedic surgeon in Wolverhampton. In addition to his clinical work, Mr Bitar is deeply involved in education and is an accredited trainer with the General Medical Council. He also holds an honorary senior lectureship at the University of Birmingham Medical School.
