About Miss Anna Kamocka

Miss Anna Kamocka is a leading Consultant Bariatric, Upper Gastrointestinal and General Surgeon based in London. She specialises in minimally invasive bariatric and metabolic surgery, gallbladder surgery, laparoscopic and open hernia repairs, surgical management of reflux and achalasia. She also holds JAG accreditation in upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. Miss Kamocka is the Service Director for Bariatric and Upper GI Surgery at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. She provides private consultations at the Chelsea Outpatient Centre, the Lister Hospital, One Welbeck and at the Chelsea Wing at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. With over 15 years experience, Miss Kamocka has worked at some of the UK’s most prestigious institutions, including Imperial College London, John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, St George’s Hospital London, Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford. She further advanced her expertise through high-volume bariatric fellowships in Bruge, Belgium, and in Rochester, New York, USA. She returned to the UK in 2022 and currently practises as a consultant within both the NHS and private sector. Miss Kamocka is an internationally recognised clinical researcher with numerous publications in the field of general surgery, obesity surgery and the surgical management of type 2 diabetes. She holds a PhD in bariatric surgery from Imperial College London and has been awarded a highly regarded research fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons. She is regularly invited to speak at national and international conferences and is a strong advocate for tackling obesity stigma and advancing women’s health. Alongside her clinical practice, Miss Kamocka is deeply committed to surgical education. She holds a Master’s degree in Surgical Education and leads the West Middlesex Surgical Simulation Centre. Her laparoscopic training course has earned accreditation of the Royal College of Surgeons, and she mentors trainee surgeons from around the world. Miss Kamocka is know for her dedication to patient-centred care, multidisciplinary collaboration and delivering safe, evidence-based care tailored to each individual.
