About Dr Alison Wright
Dr Alison Wright is a highly-regarded consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, working privately at The Portland Hospital, where she is vice-chair of the MAC (Medical Advisory Committee). Her NHS practice is at the Royal Free Hospital in London. Her clinical interests include high-risk pregnancies, maternal medicine, infections in pregnancy, childbirth trauma, urogynaecology, pelvic floor dysfunction and menopause. Dr Wright believes passionately in involving women in their own care, at every level and is committed to providing safe and personalised care to women and their families. She is the immediate past vice-president of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She is also currently a national specialty advisor (NSA) in obstetrics at NHS England and NHS Improvement. Dr Wright is the UK representative for FIGO’s (International Federation of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians) safe motherhood and newborn health committee.
