Insomnia
Insomnia is a common sleep disorder that can make it difficult to fall asleep, stay asleep, or get restful sleep. Cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) is often recommended as a first-line treatment, as it helps individuals change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours related to sleep. In some cases, healthcare professionals might suggest short-term use of sleep medications. Additionally, adopting good sleep hygiene practices, such as maintaining a consistent sleep routine, creating a comfortable sleep environment, and avoiding screens before bed, can significantly improve sleep quality.
