About Mr Tahir Masudi
Mr Tahir Masudi is a consultant breast and oncoplastic surgeon at the Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield. He is skilled in lumpectomy and has expertise in breast surgical procedures such as reconstruction, augmentation, reduction, and asymmetry. Mr Masudi qualified in 1994 from the University of Kashmir in India and completed his medical and surgical training in the Yorkshire and Humber region of the UK. He was a senior clinical fellow in oncoplastic breast surgery at the Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby before he was appointed locum consultant breast surgeon in 2017 with the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. He is currently a consultant for the Rotherham NHS Trust. In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Masudi retains an interest in research. He is the principal investigator of an internationally-conducted ATNEC trial, and is part of a national collaboration in researching localisation techniques for breast surgery; he is largely responsible for the implantation of the Magseed localisation method in Yorkshire, which assists patients with impalpable breast cancer. Mr Masudi is an educational and clinical supervisor for the NHS, and as the Lead Clinician at the Rotherham Breast Unit he has been able to set up regional, biannual South Yorkshire breast meetings to assess for and support patients with benign and harmful breast conditions.
