About Dr Saud Khawaja

Dr Saud Khawaja is a highly accomplished consultant interventional cardiologist with extensive experience in both clinical practice and academic research. He holds dual Certificates of Completion of Training (CCT) in Cardiology and General Internal Medicine, awarded in 2023. He subsequently started working as a consultant cardiologist at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Dr Khawaja’s clinical expertise includes interventional cardiology, coronary artery interventions and the management of structural heart disease, especially Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI). He has held prestigious positions at leading NHS trusts and internationally recognised institutions, serving as a Clinical Research Fellow at Imperial College London and as an Interventional Cardiology Fellow at Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, Italy. His broad clinical experience spans multiple NHS trusts, including Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Newcastle Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and South Tees NHS Trust, where he provided comprehensive cardiac care to a diverse patient population. With a strong foundation in evidence-based medicine and a patient-centred approach, Dr Khawaja integrates advanced techniques with compassionate care to deliver superior cardiac treatment. His ongoing research and leadership in interventional cardiology ensure that his patients benefit from the latest advancements in the field. Dr Khawaja has an impressive academic background, including research studies at Imperial College London and an MSc in Interventional Cardiology from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. His research focuses on advancing the fields of interventional cardiology and structural heart disease management. During his time as a Clinical Research Fellow at Imperial College London, he contributed significantly to major research projects, authored peer-reviewed publications and presented his work at national and international conferences.
