About Mr Sanjay Taribagil

Mr Sanjay Taribagil is a highly-renowned consultant general and upper GI surgeon based in the Newcastle-upon-Tyne area. With over 20 years of experience in his field, Mr Taribagil is especially-experienced in the treatment of gallstone disease, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, groin and recurrent hernias, and appendix problems. Mr Taribagil graduated from the University of Mumbai with an MBBS in 1991. He then continued his studies in the UK, being awarded an FRCS (Gen) from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2008, and an MD from University College London in 2013. Mr Taribagil currently practices at the Spire Washington Hospital. His clinical interests include all types of general and upper GI surgery, such laparoscopic and open complex hernia surgery, antireflux surgery, endoscopy, appendicectomy, and benign gastric pathology. He is also a consultant upper GI surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. In addition to his clinical work, Mr Taribagil has also published numerous medical articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals. He is also a respected medical educator, and currently serves as education supervisor for foundation trainees at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead.
