About Dr Sameer Zar

Dr Sameer Zar is a highly-experienced London-based gastroenterologist. Practising at a number of reputable clinics in the capital including the Royal Marsden Hospital, he specialises in a number of aspects of his field such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, Barrett’s oesophagus, reflux, dyspepsia, IBS, IBD and liver diseases. He carries out endoscopic submucosal dissection of early upper and lower GI cancers in addition to lower and upper GI endoscopy. Dr Zar is the upper GI cancer lead at St Helier NHS trust and Epsom, he completed his postgraduate training in general medicine and gastroenterology in South West London. Dr Zar awarded a PhD by The University of London for his research work on food's role of hypersensitivity in Irritable Bowel Syndrome and its effect on gastrointestinal motility at St George's Hospital Medical School. He's published various peer-reviewed articles in leading international journals. He runs a GI physiology laboratory and hepatitis service at St Helier Hospital.
