About Mr Ronan Banim
Mr Ronan Banim is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Nuffield Health The Grosvenor Hospital in Chester. He is an expert in the lower limbs, performing regular hip and knee replacements, ligament reconstruction,arthroscopic procedures, and sports injuries, and treating conditions such as hip and knee arthritis. Mr Banim qualified from the University of London in 1993 and undertook specialised training in the West Midlands of England and Wales, honing his skills in esteemed orthopaedic institutions such as Wrightington and The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital. He has completed a further fellowship in trauma and sports surgery in Tennessee, USA. Mr Banim was appointed consultant to the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Trust in 2006, where, as lead for orthopaedic surgery and trauma services, he has been a pivotal part of the lower limb reconstruction service, performing procedures with arthroscopic techniques such as joint replacement and revision, ligament reconstruction, and treating sports injuries. He implements enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) strategies to optimise his patients’ experience of their treatment and recovery. He is a member of several orthopaedic associations, such as the British Hip Society, the British Association for Surgery of the Knee, and the British Orthopaedic Association.
