About Mr Roger Wade
Mr Roger Wade is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in knee and shoulder surgery. His areas of expertise are arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder. He undertakes a large number of knee replacements each year and focuses on rapid rehabilitation with excellent long-term outcomes as recorded on the national joint register. He privately practises at Nuffield Health North Staffordshire Hospital, while his NHS base is at University Hospitals of North Midlands. With over 20 years of experience treating professional athletes and premiership footballers, Mr Wade brings a proactive, goal-oriented approach to patient care. He understands the physical demands placed on the body and works with patients to create bespoke recovery plans that are both effective and realistic. Whether dealing with high-performance sports injuries or more common joint conditions, he ensures each treatment pathway is tailored to the individual. Mr Wade has a particular interest in arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery for both the knee and shoulder and he uses enhanced recovery techniques to optimise rehabilitation. This covers all aspects of knee injuries, including meniscal repair and resection, cruciate and ligament reconstructions, chondral bearing surface treatments and treatment of tendinitis and other chronic knee issues. His shoulder practice focuses on arthroscopic cuff repairs, treatment for instability and treatment of chronic conditions such as tendinitis. He has an MD (Doctor of Medicine) from Keele University and completed his surgical training at the University of Liverpool and the Royal College of Surgeons. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and the British Orthopaedic Society. Mr Wade works closely with specialist physiotherapists to support long-term recovery and aims to deliver the highest standard of orthopaedic care.
