About Mr Rajiv Dave

Mr Rajiv Dave is one of the few dual-specialty consultant oncoplastic breast and endocrine surgeons in the UK, practicing in Manchester/Cheshire. He specialises in breast cancer and breast reduction/ breast lift (mastopexy), and breast reconstruction, as well as parathyroiotid gland surgery, thyroid surgery and Graves’ disease. He privately practises at The Alexandra Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, while his NHS base is Nightingale Breast Unit at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Dave completed his medical degree (MBChB) at the University of Leeds in 2005, followed by a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2013 and later a Master of Science in Global Health Leadership. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd) in 2017. His specialist surgical training spans more than a decade and includes a prestigious TIG oncoplastic fellowship in Manchester as well as an international fellowship in breast, endocrine and melanoma surgery in Melbourne, Australia. During his research training he was awarded the Patey Prize by the Society of Academic and Research Surgery, recognising the quality of his academic work. He is an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Manchester. Alongside his extensive clinical experience in the surgical management of breast and endocrine conditions, Mr Dave contributes to teaching and training future surgeons locally, nationally and internationally. He is actively involved in clinical research and has published work in several leading peer-reviewed journals, including the British Journal of Cancer, British Journal of Surgery, British Journal of General Practice and Breast Cancer Research and Treatment. He regularly presents his work at conferences on topics such as breast cancer management pathways, advanced oncoplastic breast conservation techniques and the diagnosis and management of parathyroid disease. Mr Dave also holds a number of regional and national professional roles. He is a member of the Association of Breast Surgery Academic and Research committee and International committee, the North West Breast Research Collaborative, the Manchester Breast Centre and the Greater Manchester & Cheshire thyroid cancer MDT. In addition, he is a founding steering member of the Kenya/UK Healthcare Alliance. His work has been recognised with several awards and grants, including the Association of Breast Surgeons Research Grant, the Patey Prize from the Society of Academic and Research Surgery and the Ethicon/BAETS masterclass training programme award.
