About Mr Paritosh Shah
Mr Paritosh Shah is a highly experienced consultant ophthalmologist based in Somerset, Dorset, and the South West of England. He sees private patients at The Kingston Wing at Yeovil Hospital, where he specialises in retinal conditions, including age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, as well as cataract surgery. Mr Shah has trained extensively in ophthalmology, completing prestigious fellowships at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, Mainz University in Germany, and L V Prasad Eye Institute in India. He holds a Master’s degree in Ophthalmology and is dedicated to education, earning a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Education from Herefordshire University in 2013. He served as the clinical lead for Ophthalmology at Yeovil District Hospital for the past 10 years, playing a key role in shaping and leading the service. While he no longer holds this leadership role, his contributions during that time remain highly valued. Committed to innovation and research, Mr Shah was the Principal Investigator for the CANDLE trial, which explored new treatments for diabetic macular oedema. He is currently involved in the FOCUS trial, an international study on eye changes in diabetic patients using semaglutide, and is an investigator in the STAR trial, examining the effects of radiotherapy for wet macular degeneration.
