About Mr Niall Sullivan
Mr Niall Sullivan is a highly experienced consultant orthopaedic hip and trauma surgeon, specialising in complex primary and revision hip surgery. He has expertise in treating a range of conditions, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, avascular necrosis, metastatic cancer affecting the hip and pelvis, trauma, and developmental hip disorders. His surgical skills extend to total hip replacements and complex revision procedures, ensuring patients receive the highest level of care. Mr Sullivan completed his specialist orthopaedic training within the Severn Deanery and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2017. He further advanced his expertise by undertaking fellowship training in advanced hip replacement and revision surgery in both Auckland, New Zealand, and Bristol. Alongside his clinical practice, he remains dedicated to research, collaborating with the University of Bristol on stem cell studies and prosthetic joint infection research. His contributions to academia have earned him recognition and awards throughout his career. In addition to his surgical work, Mr Sullivan plays a key role in medical education, serving as the Health Education England Lead for Skills and Courses in the Severn Deanery surgical training programme. His personal experience of undergoing hip surgery himself gives him a unique understanding of the physical and emotional challenges his patients face.
